These are my super cute cowboys at the July 24th rodeo in Logan. Wyatt rode 8-9 calves he ate dirt, 10-11 steers he took 4th, 12-14 mini bulls he took 5th. He took 3rd in breakaway and won a lead rope and horse brush. Cody and Wyatt team roped, Wyatt set a wonderful heel loop, but just barely missed his dally. They took a no time. His final event was pole bending, he took first and won a really neat belt buckle. Ty did the stick barrels, they weren't timing but in my book he was 1st all the way. He also did the dummy roping, he always throws a nasty knot. We have had 7 rodeos in July. Wyatt is the proud owner of 4 new belt buckles, trophies, a lead rope, a horse brush, about $450 cash and lots of great memories. Ty has won 1 belt buck, candy, about $100 and lots of great memories. We love July Rodeos!!! We have been to Cokeville, Kemmerer, Logan, Ogden, Farmington, West Haven and Henefer. It has been so much fun. Wyatt qualified for the Utah Youth Finals Rodeo. It is on Aug. 7th at 5:30 pm at the Weber Co. Fair. They only take the top ten in each event. The kids have 1 rodeo a month for a total of 10 rodeos to qualify. They compete against approx. 20-25 kids in each event in each age group. Wyatt is in the 8-11 age group, so the fact that he even qualified is a huge accomplishment. It is really hard to beat the older kids in the age groups, they have a few years experience on the younger kids. Ty has chosen not to compete in the Utah Youth series. He is still competing in the Legacy series though. He is thinking he might want to try competitive Base Ball next year. If you look at the very bottom of this page you can see our latest rodeo pictures of Wyatt and Ty.
